CLASSES
With all classes, I provide supply lists to print out as well as detailed instructions about what the students need to do prior to class.
I work very hard to keep the classes entertaining, fun, and stress free. At the same time, students will learn a new technique.
If you are interested in class that's not listed here, check with Phyllis--she will work with you to develop just the right class content for your group.

LET'S TALK RULERS
(ONE HOUR LECTURE)
Let's Talk Rulers is a one hour lecture and trunk show. During this lecture I introduce the most basic of the Studio 180 Rulers. I demonstrate how to use the rulers and why they will improve accuracy in quilting and why they are so easy to use. Plus, I like to show what "else" you can do with the rulers by introducing numerous technique sheets for each ruler.
STUDIO 180 DESIGN RULER CLASSES
Deb Tucker has developed a wonderful line of rulers and patterns to go with them. What makes these rulers so great is that they can be used to make multiple sizes, and they can be used on any pattern, not just hers. With these rulers, there is very little fabric waste and accuracy is much improved. My specialties are the Tucker Trimmer, Wing Clipper, V-Block, Square Squared, Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star, and Rapid Fire Hunter’s Star. There are several class possibilities using these rulers.
AURA
(6 HOUR CLASS)

Aura is a beautiful quilt that uses both V-blocks and Shoofly blocks. Everyone has scraps of fabric at home that they have collected from past projects. Maybe it is a collection of fat quarters or layer cakes that they want to use to create the "scrappy" look. No matter how the scraps have been collected, this is a fun quilt to do, and you can make it in any size from a baby to a king -- just keep cutting scraps. You can choose to make 6”, 9” ,or 12” blocks depending on how big you want the finished quilt top.

In the class, students will learn the process and construct different size stars to make their own Constellation wall hanging. This block is easily made using oversized strip piecing methods and then trimmed down with your Tucker Trimmer from Studio 180 Design. You can make any size quilt or wall hanging depending on the number of scraps you want to use up. I made the sample using fall colors and scraps. We will be making 4” finished blocks in class. T-SHIRT QUILT
(6 HOUR CLASS)

T-shirt quilt is a class is based on the book You Did What With My T-shirts? The booklet offers several T-shirt quilt designs depending on the number of shirts available and the desired size of the finished product. The designs are suitable for beginners, and the most difficult part of the process is lining up the T-shirts and centering the motif. Products needed include the book, sashing and borders for the quilt top, a large square ruler, stretch or ballpoint sewing machine needles, tricot interfacing, backing, and batting. If you would prefer to do your own thing, I have several layout options for you to choose from. These classes are always popular because parents and grandparents are looking for ways to use those T-shirts that their child has collected over the years. I will show you how to stabilize your T-shirts for cutting and sewing as well as helpful hints for centering the shirts, pressing, and machine piecing knits.
